Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Lumum Cleaning Service Co DBA Luxe Legacy Cleaning ("Luxe Legacy Cleaning," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our website, requesting a quote, or booking a cleaning, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully — they include important limits on liability and a dispute-resolution section.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing our website or using our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into this agreement. If you are booking on behalf of a household, business, or another person, you confirm you are authorized to do so and to grant access to the property.

2. Our services

Luxe Legacy Cleaning provides residential and commercial cleaning services in Chicago and surrounding areas. The exact scope of each cleaning is based on the service type, property details, and add-ons you select. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service at our discretion, including for safety, hazardous conditions, or non-payment.

3. Quotes, estimates, and pricing

Prices shown by our online quote tool are estimates based on the information you provide (such as size, rooms, and condition). The final price may be adjusted if actual conditions differ materially from what was described — for example, a larger space, heavier soiling, or extra work requested on site. We will communicate any material change before performing the additional work whenever reasonably possible.

Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change over time. Any applicable taxes will be added where required by law.

4. Booking, scheduling, and access

Appointments are scheduled for arrival windows, not exact times, because travel and prior jobs can shift our timing. You are responsible for providing safe, timely access to the property (keys, codes, parking, or someone to let us in) and for ensuring utilities such as running water and electricity are available. If our team cannot access the property or begin work through no fault of ours, a lockout or trip fee may apply (see Section 6).

5. Payment

We accept payment through our secure processor, Stripe. Depending on the service, we may require a deposit or full prepayment to reserve your appointment, or charge on or after the day of service. By providing a payment method, you authorize us and Stripe to charge it for the amounts you agree to, including any add-ons, adjustments, or fees described in these Terms. Late or failed payments may result in suspended service and reasonable collection costs permitted by law.

6. Recurring service and automatic renewal

If you choose a recurring plan (for example, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly cleaning), you authorize us to charge your payment method automatically for each cleaning on the agreed schedule until you cancel. Your recurring plan continues and automatically renews until cancelled.

You may cancel or change a recurring plan at any time by contacting us at nick@luxelegacycleaningco.com or (773) 416-9438, subject to the cancellation notice in Section 7. We honor the disclosure and cancellation requirements of the Illinois Automatic Contract Renewal Act (815 ILCS 601). Recurring pricing and any promotional rates will be disclosed to you before you enroll, and we will give advance notice of any price change.

7. Cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, lockouts, or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation or trip fee of up to the value of the scheduled cleaning (or, for prepaid bookings, forfeiture of the deposit), to cover the crew's reserved time. We will always tell you the applicable fee before charging it whenever possible.

8. Satisfaction guarantee

Your satisfaction matters to us. If you are not happy with an area we cleaned, contact us within 24 hours of the service and we will return to re-clean the affected areas at no additional charge. This re-clean is our standard remedy for a cleaning you find unsatisfactory.

9. Your responsibilities

To help us do our best work safely, please:

  • Provide a safe, non-hostile working environment for our team.
  • Secure cash, jewelry, and irreplaceable or high-value items before we arrive.
  • Secure pets and let us know about them in advance.
  • Tell us about any hazards, fragile items, surfaces needing special care, or areas you do not want cleaned.

10. Property, valuables, and damage claims

We treat your home and belongings with care and our team is insured. Accidents are rare but can happen. If you believe we caused damage or loss, please notify us within 48 hours of the service so we can investigate promptly; timely notice lets us document and resolve issues fairly. Our responsibility for any verified damage caused by our negligence is limited as described in Section 13, and we may choose to repair, replace, or reimburse the reasonable value of the affected item.

11. Work we don't perform

For the safety of our team and your property, our standard cleaning does not include, among other things: biohazards or bodily fluids, animal or pest waste and infestations, mold or hoarding remediation, moving heavy furniture or appliances, exterior work, cleaning at unsafe heights, or handling hazardous materials. If a job requires these, we may decline that portion or refer you to a specialist.

12. Non-solicitation of our staff

We invest heavily in recruiting, training, and vetting our team. During your relationship with us and for 12 months afterward, you agree not to directly hire or engage any Luxe Legacy Cleaning team member who served you, except through us. If you do, you agree to pay a placement fee of $2,500 to cover our costs, which you agree is a reasonable estimate of our loss.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the services or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service that gave rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or property, except where such limitation is not permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Luxe Legacy Cleaning and its owners, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of our services, or your failure to disclose hazards or secure the property as required.

15. Dispute resolution and arbitration

Let's talk first. If a dispute arises, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally — most issues are resolved quickly this way.

If we can't resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, seated in Cook County, Illinois, rather than in court, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court. To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be handled on an individual basis only, and you and we waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by notifying us in writing within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. This section does not apply where prohibited by law.

16. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 15, any dispute not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

17. Other terms

All content on our website — including text, logos, images, and design — belongs to Luxe Legacy Cleaning or its licensors and may not be used without permission. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding our services. We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date shows the current version, and continued use means you accept the changes.
